The Plastimo 811-T is a compact, high-performance jib-reefing/furling system tailored for boats approximately 8 to 11 metres long, with a maximum compatible headsail area of about 35 m². Its drum core is made from robust yet lightweight aluminum, and both the drum and the halyard swivel incorporate Torlon® and Delrin® ball bearings — features that improve mechanical reliability and reduce friction, ensuring smoother furling and reefing. The drum cheeks rotate a full 360°, which helps with safe maneuvering and even feeding of the furling line, minimizing the risk of jamming when you furl or unfurl the sail. The system comes with adjustable chain plates (or turnbuckle-mounting options), giving flexibility in how it’s mounted — useful when retrofitting older rigs or optimizing installation on newer boats.
