Mounted directly on top is the Harken 494 Fast Release Fairlead.Molded from a tough, abrasion-resistant composite, its unique geometry introduces angled stainless steel line guides on the exit side. When you flick a line upward to uncleat, these angled guides pull the line completely clear of the cam jaws. By forcing the running line away from the teeth, it ensures your sheets and halyards run absolutely free without the danger of accidentally recleating mid-maneuver.
